HC Deb 26 February 1924 vol 170 c226
4. Mr. BAKER

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will consider the appointment of a Royal Commission on the shipping industry, with particular reference to the financial position during and since the War?

Mr. WEBB

I doubt whether there would be any advantage in the appointment of a Royal Commission on the shipping, any more than on any other industry; and, in view of the great amount of official work at the present time, I would suggest that the matter had better be deferred.
