HC Deb 26 February 1924 vol 170 cc253-4
89. Mr. MACPHERSON

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he will now consider the application of the inhabitants of the district between Badachro (Gairloch) and Diabaig (Torridon) for a road between Diabaig and Red Point, in view of the fact that such a road would benefit 10 or 12 townships and open up a wide district?

Mr. ADAMSON

The Board of Agriculture for Scotland recently considered an application for a grant for the road in question, but in view of the heavy expenditure which would have been involved, and the demands on their funds for other schemes of relatively greater urgency and importance, the Board were unable to make a grant. I fear that these difficulties still stand in the way, but this scheme will be kept in view for consideration when circumstances permit.
