§ 73. Sir CHARLES OMANasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether, since the German Government has refused to refund to German booksellers the extra percentage levied on German books of science and research sold to British purchasers and liable to reparations duty, so that the entire tax now falls on the British buyer, it would be possible to exempt such books from the reparations duty?
Mr. GRAHAMIn view of the settlement in regard to the German Reparation (Recovery) Act, which was announced yesterday, this question no longer arises.
