HC Deb 26 February 1924 vol 170 cc219-20
1. Mr. NICHOL

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether it is his intention to take the necessary steps to reinstitute the national census of production, suspended during the War period, and which is normally due in 1924?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Webb)

Yes, Sir; it has been decided that a Census shall be taken next year in respect of the present year.

Mr. NICHOL

Can the arrangement made in 1908 for the census of agriculture and fisheries, which does not come within the scope of the Act, be made by agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture?

Mr. WEBB

I am in communication with my right hon. Friend on the subject, and I hope that will be done.
