HC Deb 26 February 1924 vol 170 c251
81. Mr. WESTWOOD

asked the Secretary for Scotland what action, if any, he proposes to take in respect of the Farm Servants' Holiday (Scotland) Bill and a 48-hours' week for Scottish agricultural workers?

Mr. ADAMSON

In view of the Government's large programme of legislation, I cannot undertake to introduce measures dealing with these subjects at an early date, but I will do everything in my power to encourage an extension of the arrangements for half-holidays and shorter working hours which have in many instances been made in Scotland by conference and agreement between the farm workers and their employers.
