HC Deb 25 February 1924 vol 170 c49
The PRIME MINISTER

I beg to move: That Mr. C. F. Entwistle be the Deputy-Chairman of Ways and Means. When I proposed the appointment of the Chairman of Ways and Means the other day, I said that I would delay the Motion for a Deputy-Chairman of Ways and Means, because I hoped that I might be able to get a nomination from another party, so as to remove those offices a little bit further than they have been hitherto from the political appointments of the Government in power. I am happy to say that I have been able to succeed, and I therefore beg to move that Mr. C. F. Entwistle be the Deputy-Chairman of Ways and Means.

Question put, and agreed to.
