HC Deb 21 February 1924 vol 169 cc1973-4
53. Mr. HARLAND

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the danger to the country arising from recurrent unemployment, the Government proposes to make an inquiry into the underlying causes and possible prevention of extensive unemployment?

Mr. CLYNES

I do not think that any useful purpose would be served by a special enquiry of the kind suggested at this juncture.
