asked the Prime Minister whether he is in a position to give any information as to the date when he will be able to introduce legislation to give effect to his promise with regard to the setting up of a wages board and legal minimum wage for agricultural workers?

Mr. BUXTON

I have been asked to reply. I am not yet in a position to state when it will be possible to introduce legislation to deal with the question of agricultural wages, but every effort is being made to press forward with this question, and I hope that I shall be able to submit my proposals to the House at an early date.

Mr. ROBINSON

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman if he is aware that, according to a report I have received from the secretary of the National Union of Agricultural Workers for the Chelmsford Division, there are many—
