Mr. WEBBI understand that the Scottish Office is now considering the question of illegal trawling, and the Board of Trade will give any assistance they can in finding an effective remedy for this practice. Until definite proposals can be formulated, it would not be expedient to make any statement about any of the particular remedies which have been suggested.
§ Mr. MACPHERSONWill the right hon. Gentleman, along with the Secretary for Scotland, press upon t he Government the advisability of introducing the Illegal Trawling Penalties Bill, so as to strengthen the penalties against illegal trawling?
