HC Deb 19 February 1924 vol 169 c1531
52. Mr. LUMLEY

asked the Prime Minister if he has invited the leader of the Hungarian Socialist Democratic party to come to London to discuss the Hungarian situation with him?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Ponsonby)

No, Sir. The Prime Minister issued no such invitation, either directly or indirectly.

Mr. LUMLEY

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that the gentleman in question has publicly stated in Vienna that the Prime Minister has asked him to come to this country?

Mr. PONSONBY

I think the report appeared in a paper in Austria, hut I believe that it was denied by the gentleman in question.
