§ Mr. TREVELYANAccording to the figures taken from the census returns of 1921, the number of boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 16 is 1,446,593. Of these, 298,745 are, according to the latest figures at the disposal of the Board, in full-time attendance at schools falling within the jurisdiction of the Board. As there are a number of private schools of which the Board have no knowledge, it cannot be assumed that this latter figure is complete.
