§ 1. Mr. LUMLEYasked the Minister of Pensions if he will allow by his special authority members of voluntary aid detachments who make applications for pensions to appeal to the Pensions Appeal Tribunal against decisions arrived at by the Ministry?
§ The MINISTER of PENSIONS (Mr. Roberts)I have, I fear, no authority to adopt the course suggested by the hon. Member. The powers exercised by the independent appeal tribunals, and the cases which they may hear and determine, are laid down by the War Pensions Acts, and do not cover grants made to the persons referred to.
§ Mr. LUMLEYCan the right hon. Gentleman say under what power he is able to allow the tribunal to deal with applications of the kind?
§ Mr. ROBERTSI cannot answer that point now, but if the hon. Member could give me notice of the question, I will look into it.
