asked the President to the Board of Education the number of elementary schools in urban districts and in rural districts, respectively, in England and Wales in which school gardening is taught?


The number of public elementary schools in which gardening was taught in England and Wales during the year ending 31st March, 1922, was as follows: In rural districts in county council areas, 3,976; in all other districts, 1,938; making a total of 5,914.
