§ Mr. BALDWINThe hon. Member's proposed tax on the increment in the value of land resulting from the creation of new roads and other works of a public nature, resembles the Increment Value Duty which was imposed by Section 1 of the Finance (1909–10) Act, 1910, and I would refer him to the answer, of which I am sending him a copy, given on the 1st May regarding a similar proposal made by the hon. Member for Southport.
