§ 80. Mr. PENNYasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport whether he can provide facilities for Members to inspect some of the new arterial roads now under construction by his Department in the neighbourhood of London?
§ Colonel ASHLEYThe arterial road works to which my hon. Friend refers are somewhat widely distributed, and I very much regret that for reasons of economy it is not possible for me to make adequate arrangements for Members to inspect them. If, however, it would meet the wishes of some of the Members interested, I shall be very happy to arrange for the Chief Engineer of the Roads Department to give some explanation, with lantern illustrations, of these important works in one of the Committee Rooms, on some convenient date after the Whitsuntide Recess.
