HC Deb 29 March 1923 vol 162 c706
33. Captain TERRELL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the present average per head of taxation, direct and indirect, in England, France, Germany, Italy, and the United States of America?

Mr. BALDWIN

I will refer my hon. Friend to the answers which I gave to my hon. Friends the Members for East Lewisham (Lieut. - Colonel Assheton Pownall) and the Moseley Division (Mr. Hannon) on the 22nd and 27th February, respectively. These answers did not deal with the case of Germany. But estimates for that country taking account of recent changes in the value of the mark are not available.
