HC Deb 22 March 1923 vol 161 c2765
Major McKENZIE WOOD

I desire to repeat a question that I put to you on Monday, Mr. Speaker, namely, if, seeing that the Members' Gallery is now open to both sexes, you can arrange that, after Easter, admission to the Ladies' Gallery shall be co-ordinated with admission to the other Galleries, by doing away with the Ballot for 8.15 p.m. Orders, and instructing the Serjeant-at-Arms to issue Orders for vacant places after 4.15 p.m.?

Mr. SPEAKER

Since Monday last, I have taken such steps as were open to mo to ascertain the feeling of hon. Members, and I have discovered that there is a large volume of opinion in favour of maintaining the present system. I have, therefore, decided to make no alteration. [HON. MEMBERS: "Hear, hear."]
