HC Deb 21 March 1923 vol 161 cc2563-4
74. Major McKENZIE WOOD

asked the Minister of Health whether he can yet make any statement as to his proposals for a new arrangement with the doctors under the National Health Insurance Act to take the place of the present agreement, which expires at the end of this year?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I am not in a position to make any statement on this matter.

Major WOOD

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when he is likely to be able to make a statement?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I am afraid that I cannot give any definite date at present.

Dr. WATTS

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that under the present agreement many doctors are expected to be on duty 24 hours a day and seven days a week?
