46. Captain BENNasked the Prime Minister whether he can yet make a statement, relative to the inquiry into the Regulations made under the Restoration of Order in Ireland Act?
§ The PRIME MINISTERYes, Sir; I have now appointed Mr. George Talbot, K.C., Mr. Walter Runciman, and Lord Chelmsford to be a Committee to review the provisions of the Restoration of Order in Ireland Act and of the Regulations made under that Act, and to report 1024 what, if any, powers thereby conferred should in the public interest be retained, whether temporarily or permanently. Mr. Talbot will be the Chairman of the Committee.
