§ 85. Sir JAMES AGG-GARDNERasked the Home Secretary whether any recommendation which may be made by the newly-appointed Committee on the Police Service as to the adoption of an age limit for retirement on pension will affect members of the police force who are already entitled to retire?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANIf the Committee should make any recommendation on this subject, it is clear that it could not affect the position of men already entitled to give notice of their desire to retire on pension.
§ Mr. HAYESWill that statement also be applicable to the other portion of the terms of reference, in regard to the question of pay and superannuation deductions, without any change in the existing conditions of the salaries of the serving police? Will it not be a breach of faith?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANThat is a question which, I think, had better be put down; I would rather see it on the Paper before giving an answer.
