§ The ATTORNEY-GENERAL (Sir Douglas Hogg)Execution in the County Court is levied by the High Bailiff and his officers, and not by the Sheriff. The fees are those prescribed by the County Courts Fees Order, or ordered or allowed by the judge under that Order. In the majority of cases the State has no pecuniary interest, as the fees are, paid over to the profit of the High Bailiff or 452 Registrar, and there is nothing to audit, though the books are examined and any improper charge would, of course, be reported to the Lord Chancellor. Where by arrangement the High Bailiff pays over part of the fees to the County Courts Department, the County Court Examiner checks the receipts to see that the proper amount is paid over.
