§ 51. Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKEasked the Prime Minister whether, in order to allay the anxiety that prevails among the pre-War pensioners on the question, and in view of the postponement of the Pensions (Increase) Amendment Bill, he will follow the course taken by the Government before introducing the Pensions (Increase) Bill in 1920, and make a short statement to the House, giving the classes of pensioners that will be affected by the Measure and what increase will be given and can he say what will be the cost to the Exchequer of the additional percentages?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which was given him on this subject on the 12th July by my right hon. Friend the Financial Secretary to the Treasury. I still feel that it would be desirable to await the introduction of the Bill, and I hope my hon. Friend will not press his request.
