§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANSLicences to land cables for the purpose of conducting cable telegraph services are granted at a charge of £1 a year per cable, and in addition the companies pay for the wires leased by them in this country and appropriate rates for the use of the Inland Telegraph service where messages are transmitted over Post Office lines.
