HC Deb 23 July 1923 vol 167 cc28-9
49. Mr. FRANK GRAY

asked the Prime Minister whether he will take the necessary action to secure that future Joint Committees of the two House of Parliament will be so constituted as to give the House of Commons dominant representation?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am not prepared to adopt the hon. Member's suggestion.

Mr. GRAY

Does the right hon. Gentleman appreciate that, by virtue of the casting vote, the House of Lords have a majority on the Committee, and that this causes great dissatisfaction among his followers?
