asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that Joseph McPeak, a British subject residing in Scotland, on proceeding to Dublin to instruct a solicitor on behalf of his brother, John McPeak, also a British subject residing in Scotland, and arrested and brought to Ireland on a civil charge, was himself arrested by Free State military on the 9th July; whether he is still held in the custody of the Free State Army; and what steps is he prepared to take to obtain the immediate release of Joseph McPeak?
