HC Deb 16 July 1923 vol 166 c1865
35. Mr. BECKER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if any official representation has been made to the United States Government regarding the conditions prevailing on Ellis Island?

Mr. McNEILL

Yes, Sir; repeatedly.

Mr. BECKER

Has the hon. Member's attention been called to the fact that emigrants can go to Boston, and are not detained in any such place as Ellis Island, and could he recommend emigrants who go to America to travel via Boston?

Mr. McNEILL

I must consider that. I was not aware of those facts.
