Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe average price per acre of land acquired under the State-assisted Schemes authorised by the Housing, Town Planning, etc., Act, 1919, was £177. I have no information as to the average rateable value per acre of the land prior to its acquisition.
§ Mr. EMLYN-JONESWould the right hon. Gentleman not consider that 20 years' purchase based on the assessment rent would be a fair price to pay for land acquired for that purpose?
