HC Deb 05 July 1923 vol 166 cc597-8
14. Mr. CLARRY

asked the Home Secretary whether he will be prepared to consider the introduction of a Measure during the present Session designed to restore to the county of Monmouth facilities for obtaining alcoholic refreshment on Sundays on a similar basis to those facilities operating in other English counties?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

No, Sir; I do not think legislation on this question is possible this Session.

Mr. CLARRY

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider the matter next Session, if sufficient evidence be produced to warrant him going into it?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I should require some evidence of local feeling, which I shall be very glad to consider. I gather that there is some difference of opinion at the present moment.
