HC Deb 05 July 1923 vol 166 c612
57. Mr. W. GREENWOOD

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what would be the percentage added cost due to the difference in taxation per head on the unit of production in this country compared with the United States, France, and Italy, and assuming the efficiency of the management and the worker to be equal, and estimating one worker to every four of the population?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I fear that the many speculative economic factors involved in such a calculation as my hon. Friend suggests could not be dealt with within the limits of a Parliamentary answer.
