§ 69. Mr. LANSBURYasked the Minister of Labour what deductions are made from the allowance paid to trainees when they are absent from the training institution owing to sickness; and whether in any case the allowance is reduced below the pension the man would have received had he not been in receipt of training?
§ The MINISTER of LABOUR (Sir Montague Barlow)Sick leave with full allowances may be granted at the rate of four weeks in respect of every 12 months of a training course. Living-away-from-home allowance, of course, ceases if a trainee receiving it returns home, and efficiency bonus is not paid for periods of absence, but the trainee's receipts during periods of sickness with allowances cannot be less than his disability pension.
