§ The FIRST COMMISSIONER of WORKS (Sir John Baird)As the ruins in question have not been recommended by the Ancient Monuments Board to be scheduled under the Act as of national importance, I regret that I do not see my way to issue a Preservation Order, which would have to be confirmed by a Bill in Parliament. I, however, greatly deplore the proposed destruction of such an interesting building.
