§ 47. Mr. HAYDN JONESasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he will give the date upon which the Committee, appointed in May, 1922, to examine the question of the percentage grant system last met; and whether further meetings are to be held before its Report is drawn up?
§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSThe last meeting of the Committee was held on the 6th March. I understand that a draft Report is being prepared and will be submitted to the Committee at their next meeting which will be held shortly. In view of the complexity of the subject the preparation of a Report has necessarily taken some time, but it is being completed as rapidly as, possible. Other meetings will certainly be necessary before the Report reaches its final form.
