§ Major TRYONSince the 1st January, 1922, 15 non-service and 47 ex-service established male civil servants have been transferred to the Ministry, and five non-service and 301 ex-service men have been appointed direct to established posts. During the same period, the number of ex-service men in the direct employ of the Ministry has increased by 2,010, and, generally speaking, it has not been necessary to discharge efficient ex-service temporary civil servants.
