HC Deb 09 April 1923 vol 162 cc856-7
14. Mr. DARBISHIRE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department, if he will give an assurance that in the arrangements which have been or are to be made for providing finance required for the British Empire Exhibition pending receipts from charges for exhibiting space, admission, etc., no suggestion of an increased Government guarantee in excess of £100,000 has been or will be made without reference to the Reuse of Commons?

Lieut.-Colonel BUCKLEY

I know of no suggestion that the amount of the Government's liability should be increased, but, in any event, as I have already informed the hon. Member, there can be no question of increasing the liability without reference to the House.
