§ 71. Major Viscount SANDONasked the Secretary of State for Air what is the policy of His Majesty's Government as to 900 the vacant buildings in possession of the Royal Air Force depot at Harlescott, Salop; when they and the land they stand on are to be released for other uses; and for what purpose they have been retained hitherto?
§ The SECRETARY of STATE for AIR (Lieut.-Colonel Sir Samuel Hoare)The depot at Harlescott is one of the Air stations which it is intended to retain as part of the permanent organisation of the Royal Air Force. The building accommodation and lands now included within this station are not surplus to requirements, and I therefore regret that they cannot be released for other purposes.
