§ 3. Mr. R. YOUNGasked the Minister of Pensions whether he is aware that G. E. Crook, No. 588,678, sapper, Royal 1387 Engineers Signals, 3/1 London Divisional Signals, had his left eye and ear injured by shrapnel while on service in France, that the records of these injuries cannot be found, but that the case is remembered by one of his medical attendants; that Mr. Crook is now almost blind; and whether he can say why his blindness, in view of the injuries received, has been stated to be not attributable to service?
§ Mr. MACPHERSONAfter full consideration of all the circumstances, it was decided by the Ministry that the eye condition is constitutional and in no way related to the wounds (of which the Ministry have a record) or to military service. This decision has been confirmed on appeal by the Pensions Appeal Tribunal, and I regret, therefore, that the case cannot be re-opened.
