§ 4. Mr. GEORGE EDWARDSasked the Minister of Pensions if he is aware that Sydney Edward Smith, of Great Moulton, near Tivetshall, Norfolk, was attested on 24th May, 1917, and passed as Class A, and was passed into the Army on 24th May, 1917, in the Agricultural Company, No. 646,678, was sent to France in perfect good health, and was invalided home on 1st April, 1919, as unfit for military service; that he produced a certificate from his own medical officer which states that he did not suffer from rheumatism and myelitis before his enlistment and his health was good, and that he was a strong, athletic man; seeing that he is now totally disabled for life, suffering from chronic rheumatism and myelitis caused by exposure in France, will he say why he was not allowed a pension by the Appeal Tribunal; and will he make inquiries and see that justice is done to this man?
§ Mr. MACPHERSONThe Pensions Appeal Tribunal having confirmed and made final the decisions of the Ministry that the disabilities mentioned are neither attributable to nor aggravated by service, I regret that the case cannot be re-opened.
