HC Deb 08 May 1922 vol 153 cc1771-2
61. Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether there are 10,000 soldiers of the Wrangel Army in Bulgaria who were lodged there at the expense of the chief Allied Powers and are allowed to retain their military formations; whether the British Government bears any part, and to what extent, of the cost of their maintenance; and, if so, for what purpose are they being maintained?

Earl WINTERTON

So far as I am aware, none of the Allied Powers is contributing towards the upkeep of the remnants of General Wrangel's army in Bulgaria. The remainder of the question does not therefore arise.
