HC Deb 08 May 1922 vol 153 c1772
62. Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Rumanian Government has complained to the Allies that there is still a large quantity of war material in Bulgaria; whether the Bulgarian Government has duly surrendered it to the International Commission of Control; whether the Commission of Control received instructions not to destroy it but keep it intact in Bulgaria; whether information can be given as to who issued those instructions; why they were issued; and whether instructions will now be issued for the destruction of this war equipment?

Earl WINTERTON

I have no information of any such representation by the Rumanian Government. So far as I am aware, all traceable war material in Bulgaria has been surrendered to the Commission of Control. I have no information of any instructions for such material to be kept intact in Bulgaria; in fact, the information in my possession shows that it is being, or has been, disposed of otherwise.
