§ 26. Colonel WEDGWOODasked the Prime Minister whether instructions have been sent to His Majesty's representative in Berlin with reference to the attitude that he should adopt towards any proposed restoration of the Hohenzollern or Wittelsbach houses to the throne of Germany; and whether he can assure the House that the chief interest of His Majesty's Government in Germany is the retention and stabilisation of the existing government?
Mr. HARMSWORTHI would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply which I returned to him on the 22nd June, to which I have nothing to add.
§ Colonel WEDGWOODMay I ask the Prime Minister whether he appreciates the fact that any declaration by him would prevent this disastrous action taking place in Germany, and would, therefore, be far more useful made now than after the event in question?
