HC Deb 27 July 1922 vol 157 cc653-4
11. Mr. MALONE

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he is aware that cases of hardship resulting from the time limit prescribed in Article 11 of the Royal Warrant are now beginning to arise, inasmuch as widows are now being refused pension because their husbands died more than seven years after discharge, although death was directly attributable to the wound, injury, or disease admitted as due to service; and whether he will amend the Royal Warrant by extending the period of eligibility so as to prevent such cases of hardship arising?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I am giving this matter my personal consideration, but, as at present advised, I do not see my way to recommend the removal of the time limit from Article 11 of the Royal Warrant.
