(1) In the applications of this Act to Scotland two shillings and nine pence shall be substituted for two shillings and four pence halfpenny, the Scottish Board of Health shall be substituted for the Minister of Health, and two pence halfpenny shall be substituted for three halfpence, and Section one of this Act shall have effect as if there were inserted after the word "benefits" in paragraph (b) of Sub-section (1) thereof the words" and the provision of a medical service for insured persons in such districts of Scotland (other than the Highlands and Islands within the meaning of the Highlands and Islands (Medical Service) Grant Act, 1913) as may be determined by the Scottish Board of Health to be necessitous."

(2) In the application of this Act to Wales, two shillings and elevenpence halfpenny shall be substituted for two shillings and four pence halfpenny and twopence shall be substituted for three halfpence.

Lords Amendment:

In Sub-section (1), leave out the words, "In the application of this Act to Scotland," and insert

"This Act shall apply to Scotland subject to the following modifications, that is to say."

I beg to move, "That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment."

This Amendment is moved in connection with the next Amendment. Clause 1 of the Bill as it stands provides the terms for England only. It has been found necessary that the Welsh and Scottish application Clauses should provide that the Bill is to apply to Wales and Scotland in addition to laying down modifications for those countries.
