§ Major TRYONExcluding typists, messengers and cleaners, the total staff of Pension Issue Office is 4,497, of whom 359 are ex-service men, 13 non-service men and 4,125 women. I may add that the number of women occupying substitutable posts in the Ministry as a whole has been reduced to the limit recommended by the Lytton Committee and that the large majority are employed in Pension Issue Office.
