asked the President of the Board of Trade the total number of ships which entered all British home ports during the year ending 31st March last; and how many of the total were British-owned, and how many foreign-owned?

Mr. BALDWIN

The number of vessels (including their repeated voyages) that entered at ports of the United Kingdom during the twelve months ended 31st March, 1922, was 211,011. Of these, 182,870 were British and 28,141 foreign. It is not possible to state the numbers of individual vessels represented in these aggregates.
