§ The PRIME MINISTERIn regard to the first part of the question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave my hon. Friend the Member for Stafford on the 3rd instant. The attitude of His Majesty's Government towards King Constantine remains unchanged.
§ 32. Mr. HERBERTasked the Prime Minister if, in view of the failure of the Near Eastern policy of His Majesty's Government since the landing of Greek troops in Smyrna, he will reconsider this policy and make a fresh statement to the House?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI cannot accept the statement in the first part of the question. I am convinced that events will more and more justify the policy pursued by His Majesty's Government in this part of the world. I regret that I can add nothing to the reply which was given to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Clackmannan and Eastern on the 21st June.
