HC Deb 06 July 1922 vol 156 c578
55. Major KELLEY

asked the Secretary for Mines whether ho has obtained a new site for the National Mines Research station; and, if so, where is it?

The SECRETARY for MINES (Mr. Bridgeman)

No, Sir. Many inquiries have been made with a view to discovering the most suitable site for the experimental station. Negotiations are proceeding, but, as they are not yet completed, and the choice depends largely on cost, perhaps it would be wiser not to make any statement at present.
