HC Deb 12 December 1922 vol 159 cc2588-9
49. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Prime Minister whether His Majesty's Government has any present complaint against the Russian Government on the ground of subsidies paid by that Government to persons in this country for the purpose of spreading disaffection; whether any complaint on this subject has been laid during the present year by His Majesty's Government to the Russian Government; and what were the circumstances?

The PRIME MINISTER

As regards the first part of the question, I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the answer given by the Home Secretary to a question by him on the 5th December. The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the answer said that no statement could be made. May I be informed, yes or no, have the Government any complaint about propaganda by the Russian Government in this country?

The PRIME MINISTER

The answer to which the hon. and gallant Gentleman has been referred said that no statement could be made.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

May I call for some answer, Mr. Speaker, to my question?

Mr. SPEAKER

The answer was precise and complete.
