HC Deb 12 December 1922 vol 159 c2564
52. Mr. BECKER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the cost of the Civil Service Commission?

Mr. BALDWIN

Provision of £87,434 is taken in the Civil Service Commission Estimate (Class II, 20) for the current year for expenditure on this service. Receipts from examination fees were estimated at £31,000. It is, however, now anticipated that the expenditure will be £61,634 and the receipts £19,000, giving net cost £42,634. The expenditure figures given do not include amounts (total, £24,687) provided for this service in other Estimates, as detailed in the note to the Civil Service Commission Estimate.
