§ 55. Mr. STEWARTasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to the fact that the receiver of a letter posted in Belfast for Dublin, with the proper British stamp, is surcharged by the authorities in Dublin as if the letter were unstamped; and what steps he proposes to take in the matter?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLI am informed by the Provisional Government that no surcharge is made on letters posted with British stamps in Belfast, and addressed to any place in Southern Ireland. If a case has arisen, it is a mistake, and refund of the amount charged will be made.
