THOMSONasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the experience of the actual administration of the one-week gap period in the payment of unemployment benefit has shown that it has imposed a considerable amount of extra elerical work upon all boards of guardians, in addition to causing serious disaffection amongst the insured, as well as throwing a heavy extra burden on the local rates; and will he therefore advise the Cabinet Committee on Unemployment to propose legislation to amend this Section of the Act?
